Por Arriba De La Cabez / Right Over Their Heads

Las mujeres, serán europeas o americanas, vendiendo sus cosas en la playa de Tulum, siguiendo los pasos de los hombres Mexicanos que sudan bajo el sol. Estos hombres hacen lo que pueden, trabajando duro para ganarse la vida . El privilegio y siegidura de estas mujeres blancas me deja en puro shock. Al principio, siento enojo. Luego, me doy cuenta de que ellas nunca han tenido que vivir bajo su privilegio. Entiendo que la mejor manera de hacer cambio es hablarles y explicarles con amor, mujer a mujer, que su privilegio se les está pasando por arriba de la cabeza.

The women, either European or American, sell their items up and down the beach of Tulum, following in the footsteps of the Mexican men that sweat under the sun. These men hustle, doing what they can to make a living. The privilege and blindness of these white women leaves me in pure shock. At first, I feel anger. Then, I realize that these women have never had to live under their own privilege. I come to understand that the best way to make a change is to speak to them and lovingly explain, woman to woman, that their privilege has flown right over their heads.
